Group of the Pastors

SENIOR PASTOR GARY C. SIMONS

God led Gary C. Simons to pastor CBF in September 2000. Under his leadership God has done great things and we expect God to continue to move to change lives for the glory of the Lord. In the past five years we have seen God bring many people to Cornerstone from as far away as Kenya, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Venezula and Australia representing 20 countries as we have made the prayer meeting the most important service of the week.

As Senior Pastor of Cornerstone, Gary oversees the entire teaching ministry of CBF and oversees the Discipleship Counseling ministry. As a counselor he brings over 5 years professional experience as Senior Counselor under the Dean of Students at Bermuda College, where he has also served for 3 years as Assistant Dean of Students.

Pastor Gary has been used in various facets of evangelism and discipleship ministries in the past 15 years in Bermuda and around the world. This exposure has granted him experience in leadership capacities in ministries such as Open Air Campaigners, Prison Fellowship, Sunday School, Leadership Development, Pastoral Training,  Puppet & Drama Ministry, Child Evangelism Fellowship, etc., in which he earned the annual Student Ministries Award for Excellence in 1995 at Philadelphia Biblical University, PA.  Leadership capacities of Pastor Gary have ranged from Sunday School Superintendent, Director of Youth Impact, Director of Willowkids Kids Program, and various chairman and advisory positions.

As Regional Director for Walk Thru the Bible Ministries for the English Speaking Caribbean and Latin America, he is called upon to help train pastors and leaders around the world including countries such as Port-au-Prince, Haiti to Lusaka, Zambia; Murcia, Spain to Split, Croatia; and from Georgetown, Guyana to Port of Spain, Trinidad.  In 2004 he was classified by Walk Thru the BIble International as one of their best-rated Instructors. As a result, he was selected to be trained personally by Dr. Bruce Wilkinson, Founder of Walk Thru the Bible and author of the best seller in history, The Prayer of Jabez as well as the Secrets of the Vine and by Phil Tuttle, President of Walk Thru the Bible International.

ADVISORY ELDER WILLIAM A. FRANCIS

Elder William Francis is the Advisory Elder at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship. He is married to Dorleen and has two daughters. Elder William has served Bermuda as a lawyer since 1971. and later became Senior Magistrate in 1989.  He later retired from this position in 2000. But, at the urging of most of Bermuda's trial lawyers, he is still working with his background in Law in various leadership and advisory capacities.

In 1973 he became an Elder of Shiloh Gospel Chapel, which like most Bermudian assemblies, had no full time position as pastor. Therefore he, with the other elders shared responsibility for the teaching, preaching, and overall leadership of the assembly.  In addition, for several years until 1990 he was the Chairman of the United Elders of the local assemblies.

As Shiloh's ministry began to stagnate and become unfruitful, he joined in making the changes that have now taken place, whereby Shiloh's ministry was closed down, the new name of Cornerstone Bible Fellowship was chosen and two pastors were taken on to lead the church.

"I am now fully committed to this new ministry. That is why I have now stepped back from the out-front leadership and am giving my full prayerful support for the young, Spirit-filled pastors and to their leadership of the people of Cornerstone."  Advisory Elder William Francis.

Feel free to email Elder William Francis at wfrancis@cornerstone.bm.
